Robert Meyer serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Ibis Capital. He is responsible for maintaining the overall direction and strategy of the firm. Robert has extensive experience deploying investment strategies for individuals who have a net worth greater than $5M. Robert has more than two decades experience in portfolio management. He leads the Firm’s investment committee, which is responsible for investment research, portfolio construction and matching proper asset allocation to tolerance for risk. Robert is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), and is also a member of the North County Estate Planning Council.
Prior to co-founding Ibis Capital, Robert was a Principal at La Jolla Group of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. La Jolla Group built a team of specialists that focused exclusively on helping business owners and entrepreneurs sell their businesses. Committed to the financial planning process as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® Robert helps high-net-worth clients connect the varied aspects of their financial life with an overall strategy that considers both their business and personal wealth management plans and risk exposure. Working with a client’s trusted legal and tax advisors, he helps coordinate and implement a plan, which is monitored frequently to ensure successful implementation.
Robert was born and raised in San Diego and enjoys reading, playing tennis, politics and is a certified diver in SCUBA. Robert serves as a volunteer at Honor Flight San Diego, a nonprofit organization focused on showing appreciation to San Diego veterans for their service and sacrifice. Robert lives in San Diego with his family.
Robert is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner, Chartered Life Underwriter® from The American College of Financial Services, Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Arizona. The CPWA mark identifies individuals who have met the experience requirements, have successfully completed coursework in advanced wealth management strategies and applied concepts at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
